Kathrin Stauffer, PhD, UKCP registered Body and Integrative Psychotherapist, was born and educated in Switzerland. Originally trained as a biochemist, she became more and more interested in describing the human organism from a subjective rather than an objective point of view, and thus retrained as a body psychotherapist with the Chiron Centre in London and Cambridge Personal Development (now Cambridge Body Psychotherapy Centre). She works in private practice in Cambridge, offering individual psychotherapy, biodynamic massage, EMDR and supervision for psychotherapists, counsellors and complementary therapists. She has taught Anatomy and Physiology at various institutions including the London School of Biodynamic Psychotherapy, and counselling at Hills Road 6th Form College. Occasionally she teaches as a guest tutor at the Gestalt Centre London. She is a past Chair of the Chiron Association for Body Psychotherapists and the current Chair of the Council of National Associations of the European Association for Body Psychotherapy. She is also a member of the Association of Biodynamic Massage Therapists, The Relational School and the EMDR Association UK and Ireland. She holds a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Her book, Anatomy & Physiology for Psychotherapists: Connecting Body & Soul, was published by W.W. Norton in September 2010. Her profile can also be found in the Counselling Directory and on the RSCPP Website.
